ISABELLE MARIE ANGE ROCH (nee PHILIPPE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Isabelle on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Action Marguerite Centre (formerly Tache Centre) in St. Boniface, MB. Isabelle was just shy of her 89 years. She will be sadly missed by her son Gilles (Elaine) Roch, daughter Linda (Denis) Bohemier, grandsons Matthew (Rhonda) Rock and Philippe Roch, granddaughters, Jasmine Bohemier and Roxanne Bohemier, great-granddaughter Charlie Rock and great-grandson Cooper Rock. She will also be missed by her brother Marcel Philippe, her sister-in-law Henriette (Ferdinand) Philippe and companion Casey Duma. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel Roch, her infant sister Rose Philippe, her brother and sister-in-law Xavier and Therese Philippe, her sister Jeanne and brother-in-law Phil Rusywich, her brother Ferdinand Philippe, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marie Philippe and her sister-in-law Henriette (Marcel) Philippe. Isabelle was born to Joseph and Marguerite Philippe and raised in St. Claude, MB. She later met and married Marcel Roch of Notre Dame de Lourdes in 1945 where they settled and owned the Notre Dame Hotel and then the Notre Dame Sundries. They moved to Winnipeg in 1970 where they owned an apartment block but soon moved back to the country to Lorette, MB where they returned to the hotel business and owned the Dawson Hotel/Dawson Trail Motor Inn until the year 2000. At that time Isabelle was 76 years old and has missed the hotel and the many friends she had there until the day she left us. Isabelle then moved to a Knights of Columbus 55+ residence in St. Vital, MB where she lived independently until her move to Manoir de la Cathedrale in November of 2010. Unfortunately her stay there was cut short when Isabelle broke her hip February of 2011. She moved to Tache Centre in May of that year. Isabelle was a lifelong curling fanatic; this was a sport she loved both as a very active participant and as a spectator. In her later years, she developed an affinity for bowling, a sport in which she also became an active participant. Another passion of hers was travelling and she did get the chance to do some extensive travelling with her husband, family and friends. She also enjoyed going to many dances at the Legion Hall when she lived in Winnipeg with her many friends and acquaintances. But, what really mattered most of all to her was spending time with her family. She loved helping with the grandchildren as they were growing up and wished she could have spent more time with her great-grand-children. She will be missed by all whose lives were touched by her. Thanks for the wonderful times and memories you've left in our hearts, may you now rest in peace. As per her wishes, Isabelle has been cremated. Since the family lives in various parts of Canada and plans were already made to celebrate Easter together, a "Celebration of her Life" will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Monday April 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. 1 Green Acres Lane, (Fermor Ave. West - TransCanada Hwy.) Winnipeg, MB. Memorial donations may be made to the Asthma Society of Canada.
